It's clean, it's safe, about two police per square inch and it is SO pretty.

This is the Harbour. The Maritime Museum of Jacques Cousteau is in the centre, distance. Is that the Rascasse Restaurant in the middle foreground?

Walk round the F1 track. It's not an order, just a suggestion! The Monaco Grand Prix is May 20 to 23 in 2010.

The Tennis Tournament is April 12 to 18, 2010.

You can't go in if you

  • Are under 21

  • wear jean type trousers

  • wear trainers

  • or look poor

Play the slot machines at the entrance without conforming to the strict dress codes. You could win a million Euros! Probably not, but it's cheap and fun!

Monte Carlo in the fog

One of the best views of the Principalite and its environs, is from the autoroute service station between Nice and Menton. (OK it's better when it's not foggy!)

  • Visit Roses' bar as frequented by the F1 racing drivers of yesteryear.

  • Exclusive shops - Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Lalique, Hermes, Versace etc.

  • Loads of atmosphere. Have a coffee at the Cafe de Paris and watch the rich and famous come and go at the Hotel Paris across the square.
