Walk along the front at Cannes - called the Croisette - and you'll see all the beautiful people, lovely restaurants and beautiful hotels but behind the facade most of Cannes is a bit of a tip! The film festival is great for people watchers. May 12 to 25, 2010. The Carlton on the Croisette is THE place to stay! The beach is sand and mostly owned by the hotels with some good restaurants - not as pricey as you would imagine. There is a bit of Public Beach.
