An excellent swimming pool - Supervised in August
when it costs about 2 euros per person per day. (expensive but keeps
the crowds down!) Free at other times.
There is a small, safe, pool for babies and their
friends.
Ice creams and drinks are sold as well.
|
The site can be quiet, warm and sleepy. This was
September 2004 about lunchtime.
It's not always as quiet as this. You should have
seen the queue of people behind me!!
|
 |
 |
The emplacements are well marked and separated.
|
A pebbly beach is 5 minute walk from the
entrance. Careful: It shelves quickly. Fabulous view! Busy in August.
Some of the beach is supervised.

There is a train station within 5 minute walk.
Automatic ticket machine, gives change but not easy for the first time
user. Carry several 1 and 2 euro pieces and look helpless. People love
to help. Honest! It makes their day.
Trains are frequent in summer but have long lunch
hours in winter! Check timetables. Ask for 'Un Horaire' at any station
that is (wo)manned.
|
Buses are very good,
especially out of season.
Going to Antibes? Ask for Place de Gaulle (Be
prepared to pay the driver about 1 euro each - change given. Prices
have gone down!) and get off when it stops in a big square in the
middle of Antibes. (Place du General de Gaulle)

Typical train price 1.20 euros Antibes or 14
euros to Ventimille. Hint - get a single ('simple' (pronounced 'sarmp
le' in french) as you may want to come back a different way and a
return ('Aller et retour' pronounced 'al eh eh ru tour') is just twice
the price of a single.
|
