Europe travel and travel stories from Europe

Antibes is one of the most beautiful towns in the world!

It's warm, small and beautiful, between the azure sea and the snow capped mountains.

The food is great, the alleyways picturesque and the banks absolutely bloody appalling .... but then this is France! The doctors make house calls and apologise if it takes them more than 20 minutes. He arrived in leathers on a motorbike.

Fort le Carre

This is the beach, looking from my favourite little laundrette, near our site, towards Fort le Carre, where Napoleon was imprisoned before being exiled.

Note no sand but pebbles don't get in those important little places like sand does!

A beautiful alley in old Antibes.

The Ramparts at Antibes

The ramparts with the Picasso museum under the tower.

A beautiful sunset in the west from Cap d'Antibes!
(A bit unlikely in the east, n'est ce pas?)
